My First Experience with Adobe Illustrator CC

This is my first Adobe Illustrator CC project. I had to do a self portrait. I believe it turned out okay for the most part!

Here are a few more portraits that I have painted in the past year. I mostly do portraits now a days, but I do occasionally enjoy doing something imaginative, most of  those works however are still in progress.

This is a portrait of my fiance that I did for his mother after she saw the portrait I did of him for his grandmother and wanted one for herself.

This was a portrait that was asked for as a favor from one of my best male friends to present his love interest with. From what I gather they are not still together, but she and her family appreciated it.

The Art Store in Syracuse- One of the best places to get art supplies in Upstate New York

Forget chains like Michaels or A.C. Moore's that have limited selection for fine artists; if you need good quality art supplies at an affordable price, this would be the place to go. Let's face it, being a fine artist is expensive. At the Art Store, there's not only a huge selection of art supplies at department store prices, but there are sometimes art showcases of local fine artists to appreciate in the store. This is heaven on earth for fine artists in NY. Their store encompasses the entire corner of a block, you can't miss it! Here's their Twitter page for those who want to know more.

The Mission of this Blog

Hello everyone who potentially stumbles upon this blog! This is an introductory post just so that everyone knows about the core purpose to me of this blog.

First, let me introduce myself, I'm Adriana Townsend, an artist, more specifically a painter. I am also a student finishing two associate degrees (one degree for art and one degree focused towards web design) this semester. This blog will be dedicated to exploring subjects of interests, such as art, and to be posting my journey as an artist. I always will welcome crticism as well as insightful views on anything pertaining to the topic of art and possibly more.
